Network Administrator – Joint Committee on Government and Finance

Who we are:  The Legislative Automated Systems Division is a division of the West Virginia Legislature’s Joint Committee on Government and Finance.

Position: Network Administrator

Summary of Position:  The Legislative Automated Systems Division is seeking a Network Administrator.  The Network Administrator will administer and oversee the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and underlying communications protocols.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate would be responsible for investigating and solving problems related to local area networks / wide area network performance, connectivity and related issues; controlling the operation of services related to all local area networks and wide area networks; coordinating and executing upgrades to network software and hardware; designing, implementing, and providing solutions to IT infrastructure network, consulting, assessment; and upgrading and troubleshooting LAN, Wireless, and WAN.

Required Education and Skills: The successful candidate would have an Associate Degree or equivalent experience; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); Network +, Security +, and Cloud Computing (AWS, Google or Azure).  The successful candidate would also possess: a solid understanding of routing and switching; a foundational knowledge in network architecture; firewall experience; network switches experience; experience with network protocols, software and hardware involved in LAN/WAN operations; experience in production and on-call environments; experience in working network monitoring tools like SolarWinds; have skills in troubleshooting, analytics, and diagnostics; be strong team player; have outstanding customer service skills; the ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines; and have good verbal and written communication skills.
